Abstract
Riley Davidson had no intentions of returning to his hometown of Fischer, Minnesota after he left several years ago. He moved to Minneapolis, embraced his inner writer, and put everything he went through growing up in Fischer behind him. But when his father dies, he finds he must return to the place he grew up. Once back in Fischer, Riley immediately starts feeling the weight of the place he left. He forgets his sleeping pills so sleep isn't an option for escape, and he always feels like someone--or something is watching him. His only solace from it all is his sister, Sasha, and his father's dog, a labradoodle named Walter. As past memories resurface, and his father's funeral approaches, Riley finds himself spiraling deeper and deeper into the darkness he fled from years ago.
